PDF Version Team : District Enablers At the Connexional Olympics Resource Forum held here in December 2009, people requested resources from the Connexional Team. Recently we met with the Share Jesus International leaders Andy Frost and Emma Morrice, who are heading up the Creative and Performing Arts aspect of More Than Gold. The vision and the training invitation they have been using for people who are interested in potentially running local festivals this year and next will be of interest to you. We are looking for every opportunity to pass on such information. See attachments 3 and 4.
The invitation to the Pentecost Festival comes after the event, but be assured that they are looking for people in your area who might stage a missional creative arts festival. There are eleven local festivals happening in 2010. Methodist Churches in Dronfield (Sheffield), Evesham and Raynes Park, south London have taken the lead in setting up their local event.
Andy Frost encourages communities to get their event established in 2010 or 2011 with the Olympics in mind so that
- booking the venue in 2012 would be easier, and
- there should be an escalation of interest.
