Welcome to these Safer Recruitment materials, which have been prepared by members of the District Safeguarding Group. The various resources will support you in your safer recruitment to roles in the church. If you are new to this, why not begin with watching the recording of the Safer Recruitment events in Autumn 2022. To help we have provided sample role outlines for common roles in the church, detailing training and DBS requirements. The flowchart will help you decide about whether a DBS check is needed, and what sort of check, for any role. If you have any questions, please ask your Circuit Safeguarding Officer. And if your Circuit Safeguarding Officer doesn’t know the answer, they will contact the DSO.
